Fast forward to Oct. 8, in Virginia. At a post-wedding gathering, Jewish friends (I am a lapsed Presbyterian) discussed the unfolding situation in Israel and what they saw as a rise in anti-Semitism in the U.S. The bright spot was Bibi, unanimously seen as the right guy to have in charge. One person noted that Bibi would "turn Gaza into sand" if conditions warranted. To this small group, Bibi is strong, decisive, and unshakable. These were all older people. Perhaps there's a generational divide on this issue, as on most others.
