Oh Vivian, that was an emotional one. For once I have no words, just the gravity of the situation. Bar Kupershtein brought me into the war, the thought that he may be left behind is too much for the psyche. You are correct that the hostages need to all come home for the collective healing of Israel, it’s just the how. How will that happen? I pray for a miracle.
Hey Lisa. Yes. It's a lot. I cut out so much good stuff too. Because you just can't absorb it all. I understand that many see this as a dilemma but I don't. I think we have to get them out. Period. The massive systemic failures everywhere here were beyond extreme and unforgivable. All but two of the living hostages are civilians. This is an extraordinary situation. Get them out. Then see what comes. But Hamas exists to destroy us. So we have no choice. But I think we can do both. I didn't realize you have a connection to Bar.
Surely one issue is the political stasis induced by proportional representation. Unless this political flaw is corrected, Israel will not be able to create an effective defence policy. I am writing from Canada where our our political logjam has as as deer in headlights facing Trump.
Was sure i replied earlier. Oops. I think that the political mess is the core issue. But there’s a lot embedded in that statement. The rot is also in the Idf. The Idf ceased to exist for 12 hours. Totally absent. We don’t have that margin for error.
Lt. Col. Conricus certainly does not pull any punches. Let us hope that only one of his predictions comes true and that is the end of Hamas. Another great but heartbreaking episode Vivian!
Thx, Glenn. Lt. Col. Conricus is a straight-ahead, thoughtful guy….which is why I love having him on. We did have an interesting chat once the recording stopped….about the new IDF Chief of staff and the direction in which he’ll take the army. Very strong stuff. And he said he’d go on record with it. So. We’ll get to that once General Zamir has found his way to the office and settled in for a few weeks. Get ready!
Hopefully the Eli interview will be fully transcribed into English. If that happens, please let us know.
Look at Piet'er's comment, below - he posted the link to the full interview.....brace yourself.

I agree, they must all come home! I just pray enough pressure is placed on Hamas leaders to allow for their release!

Yes. No shortage of heartache around here.
