As a new subscriber, I’m really enjoying your podcast Vivian. It’s equal parts education and enlightenment. The quality of the guests, combined with your deep knowledge and understanding of Middle East/Israeli politics is a breath of fresh air.

To your point about tone, I believe you’re hitting that “sweet spot” of being authoritative without being clinical. One thing I’ve noticed is that your deep dives into topics are where the show really shines. Those “aha”moments are what keep me hitting play.

Music to my ears. When I launched this podcast my intention was to do the deeper dives as more of a mainstay. But the crisis-o-rama that we have lived for the last few years made a hash out of those plans. I'm working hard to do more of that work.....and you will see that going forward.,....not that things are exactly calm and settled.....but from October 7 until october 13, 2025.....when the 20 living hostages were freed......nothing compares to the knife edge of those two years. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback, Peter.
I can only imagine the pressure of hosting a show called State of Tel Aviv during those two years. That “knife edge” was felt by all of us and your coverage was a vital anchor during that time. I think your instinct to return to deeper dives is spot on. It’s exactly what sets your show apart from the standard news cycle. Can’t wait to see what you have in the works for the coming months!
Stay tuned......I had never aspired to be a news feeder.......tied so tightly to the news cycle.....but there was no option since October 7......nothing else was relevant......so I wasnt breaking news, per se, but even to be relevant/current with analysis was madness.

Interesting seeing you on the other side of the interview table than you're normally on with Faulkner.
